Wendy Marie Downum

Wendy Marie Downum, 52, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away Sunday May 5, 2024, at her home. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 14 in Eufuala, OK. Wendy was born on November 16, 1971, in Austin, Texas, the daughter of Dale Schneider and Jeanette Lee (Hayslip) Schneider Melton. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1990. On September 30, 1997, Wendy married Steve Downum in Branson, Missouri. They were married for twenty-one years. Wendy worked for PennWell Publishing in Tulsa, OK for five years. She later worked as a child nutritionist in the before and after school programs for the Broken Arrow Public Schools for sixteen years. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church. Wendy enjoyed playing board games and watching game shows on the television.

Wendy is survived by her son, Tylor Downum of the home; father, Dale Schneider; stepfather, Bobby Melton; brothers, James Schneider, Jeff Melton, Luci Melton, Bill Melton, Tommy Torres, JD Melton and Scott Melton. She is preceded in death by her mother Jeanette Melton and her grandparents Ann and Willie Hayslip.
