Kirby Calvin Fagg
December 05, 2024
Kirby Calvin Fagg, 71, died November 20, 2024, peacefully at his home in Fort Worth, Texas, when his heart gave out. A memorial service will be held at Alpine Funeral Home on December 21 from 2-4 p.m. in Fort Worth. A private burial will be held in the family plot at Snyder.
Kirby was born September 27, 1953, in Hobart to T.M. and Mildred (Holland) Fagg. He was the third of three siblings: Karen Fagg Kirk and Trenton Fagg. He lived in Snyder, which he always considered home, until he was 13. After the untimely death of his father in 1963, he and his mother moved to McAllen, Texas, in 1966 to be near the Holland family.
After high school in McAllen, Kirby served the Air Force in Las Vegas, Nevada, for four years. He then moved to Norman where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism from Oklahoma University. His writing skills were exceptional; but he ultimately found a job with the U.S. Postal service in Fort Worth, where he worked in the Training Department until he retired.
Kirby is well remembered by those who knew him as being an extremely generous giver, a gifted writer, a truly faithful person and a devoted Christian. He served the Lord in a counseling capacity and prayer ministry in a large church in Fort Worth, where he was the much admired leader of a prayer team.
He is survived by his sister Karen (Fagg) Kirk and husband Larry of Tipton; three nephews: Dr. Clint Kirk, wife Tiffany and son (great nephew) Jett Kirk of Lawton and Haslet, Texas, Chad Kirk and daughter (great niece) Olivia Kirk of Tipton, Bret Fagg and wife Jana of Corpus Christi, Texas, and two great nephews Spencer Christian Fagg and Geoffrey Zane Fagg (sons of Spencer Fagg). Also many close cousins, dear friend Don Klarich and special neighbor Dale Brinkshroeder.
Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, brother Trenton and his wife Linda, grandparents Thea and Myrtle (Green) Fagg, Sam and Dottie (Carver) Holland, nephew Spencer Fagg and many aunts and uncles.
