Billy Leon Lile

Billy Leon Lile, 91, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on May 17, 2025. 
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the Roosevelt Cemetery.
He was born on April 5, 1934, to Charley and Alta Mae (Smith) Lile on the family farm west of Roosevelt. Billy attended grade school at Frog Pond and graduated from Roosevelt High School. 
He met the love of his life, Nelda June Forister, while living on the farm with his Grandpa Smith and Uncle Floyd and Mitzi Smith. They were united in marriage on February 6, 1953. Billy delivered milk and helped with farming and ranching until Nelda told him he was going to be a dad. He then enlisted in the United States Army, where he raised three children; Phillip Doyle, Lorenda Gail, and Floyd Keith. Billy served his country for 24 years, which included two tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1978, after his beloved Aunt Mitzi was killed in a tragic vehicle accident. Billy came home to help his Uncle Floyd on the family farm. He spent many hours fishing and hunting. Billy loved teaching his grandkids and great grandkids all about it, but spent twice that much time at all their sporting events from baseball, basketball, football and little olympics. He enjoyed their stock show days until their love for sports took over. Billy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Three Step-Sisters - Delores Judkins, Piedmont, OK; Betty Harris & husband Carl, Hobart; Barbara O'Neal, Altus, OK. Grandchildren - Wes Moore & wife Lindsi, Hobart; Lori (Lile) Bagley & husband Joe, Snyder, OK; Patrick Lile, Flower Mound, TX; Taylor Lile, Georgetown, TX. Great Grandchildren - Cory Moore, Roosevelt; Cade Moore, Hobart; Cole Moore, Hobart; Callen Moore, Hobart; Kyson Bagley, Snyder; Kendalynn Bagley, Snyder; Kamron Bagley, Snyder;  Kyli Peeler & husband Bryce, Mangum, OK; Kearstyn Lile, FL; Kruz Lile, Comanche, OK. Great-Great Grandchildren - Reed Lile, Averi Peeler, and Cam Moore. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifetime friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Charley Lile and Alta Wheeler, Wife: Nelda Lile, 2 Grandchildren: Shawn Blane Moore and Kevin Kendall Lile, Sister: Linda Mae Cruthirds, Brother: Alvin Eugene Lile, and Sister-in-law: Lorraine Lile.
