A funeral service celebrating the life of Lula Belle "Bug" Brown will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 in the First Baptist Church, Snyder, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lula Belle "Bug" Brown departed this life and went to her Heavenly home on Friday, May 16, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. She was the daughter of E.B. Johnson and Dora Bell Baldwin. She grew up in Snyder, where she attended school through the eighth grade, leaving school in order to work to help support the family. She spent many years working for CR Industries.
Lula was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor William Dickey Sr. She loved to sing and had a voice that could move mountains. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking red beans and cornbread for her boys, and playing detective when sirens sounded off. Lula was a problem solver and a shoulder to cry on for her community.
She is survived by her sons, Sam Perry (Angela Randall), T.C. Perry Jr., Detrick Whitehead (Tameka Whitehead), and Roy Wilson Jr.; daughters: Shameka McGill (James McGill) and TaNesha Haith; brothers: Jimmy "Black Daddy" Muse and Billy Ray Muse; and a host of Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Dora Bell Baldwin, father E.B. Johnson, Son Charles Ray Johnson, Brothers Jake Muse, Jerry Muse, Gary Muse, and Raymond "Sonny" Muse. Sisters: Florence Johnson, Betty Dickey, Evelynn Allen, Carolyn Lacy, and Joyce Wilson.
